“ Great time! Gator bites are $$$$ Orange Crush super good. Drank all nite. The crab dip with pita crisps. Holy moly. Super good. Had special cucumber gin soda. Lovely. Chowder was terrific. Everyone behind the bar was on top of it! Great cozy hometown pub. Locals kept showing up. Drinks out with not saying anything. So fun!!! ”
“ Cute small restaurant, with of course a beach theme. Bright colors, well lit. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We went with the staff recommendations and were not disappointed. Had the Tuna Oscar and was very fresh and had good flavor. Husband had the fried flounder and oysters (everything tastes great fried) and it was very good! Would recommend stopping in! ”
“ We found Goombays on the map, during off season, while looking for some fresh seafood to eat. Super cute place. We were greeted promptly and sat. The menu had some fun options. We got a sampler, tuna tacos and fish and chips. Everything was great. We most enjoyed the tuna tacos, fun, flavorful and balanced. I could've used more heat in the crab balls claiming to be the hottest on the island but I understand hotter might be a turnoff for sensitive pallets. We did have a problem with the rice but our server fixed the issue immediately, refreshing! He was very attentive and we had a good experience overall. ”

Dare I say...this meal was actually better than Tortugas and Blue Moon. The best burger I've had in years in the OBX..fresh and great flavor, nothing frozen. I will return and had a great time. ”
“ Goombays - we have been eager to try this restaurant as the parking lot is ALWAYS packed... we finally had the pleasure to try this local delight, and boy, were we pleased. We were lucky to be able to get seated right away, greeted by our waiter almost instantly, and our beverages and food came out lightening fast. This restaurant features a nice diverse beer and cocktail menu and an array of food choices. One of the cocktail specials was the Kill Devil Rum pina colada slushie - boy was it good! For lunch we ordered the shrimp and veggie quesedilla, and the fish and chips. Everything arrived piping hot - so hot you had to blow on it before eating it, it was a pleasant surprise. Both meals were very good. The restaurant also had some great dessert options- maybe next time we will give those a try! Will be back, for sure! ”

“ Delicious food and great service in this restaurant. We were told wait would be 30 minutes, we were seated in 15. We got the dozen raw clams. They were yummy but tiny. Appetizer plate with coconut shrimp, another shrimp and crab balls was the star. Super yummy and perfect for two. I had the crab cake sandwich for main, it was delicious but better without bun. Friend had burger and she was happy. Adult drinks were yummy and they came with plastic toys. Blue margarita and one with rum and pineapple were so good. Excellent restaurant and shoutout to great waitress and hostess. Both super attentive. ”
